It’s my first Top 5 Wednesday post! My addiction to booktube drove me to participate in this meme. Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by GingerReadsLainey. For more information on this meme, visit the Goodreads group. This week’s topic:
Books you read in one sitting (or close to)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

I was in Jamaica visiting family when this book was first published and I begged my father to purchase it and carry it with him when he visits the island. He did and I was happy. I read and completed it on the same day my father arrived.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I didn’t intend to purchase this book but a seller at Barnes & Noble convinced me to and when I started reading, I found it hard to stop to do anything else. I read it all through the night, and I think I completed it in the wee hours of the following day.
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
This book is not thick and the story is engrossing so this one was done in a day, or shorter than that. I was in college when I read it so I had time and it wasn’t assigned reading so I was happy to pick it up. (Goodreads)
The Perks of Being a WallFlower by Stephen Chbosky
My eyes were glued to these pages. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t stop reading until the end. My Goodreads says that I read it December 30, 2012, to January 1, 2013, but I’m including it on this list because the majority of it was read in a day and stupid interruptions prevented me from completing it on the same day.
Breed by Chase Novak
I read an excerpt of this on NPR Books and was so intrigued that when I saw it in a Barnes & Noble I sat there and read it all. I just had to know what happens next. I couldn’t leave the store without knowing how it ends.
And that’s it for this post. If you’ve read any of these books, please share your thoughts below. If not, then let me know what book sunk its hook into you and wouldn’t let up until you completed it that same day.
Happy reading! 😀
Great list! I put Perks on my list too. I just couldn’t seem to put it down!

Lol yea I was surprised too when I was done because I didn’t have much other books to read. Well, more upset that I rushed through it than surprised.

I read Perks in basically one sitting as well! It’s so easy to get through books that are written in letter format. I definitely need to check out more!

Yea, I’ve only read a few epistolary novels myself. I would like to try one composed mostly of emails or texts.

On Monday i read the short second life of bree tanner which was nice easy reading after ‘old stinky ‘, which took seven days.
Vonnegut was another one this year (then I reread it two or three more times!)
I haven’t read any of the books you’ve mentioned above but I’ll check them out some time, thanks for the recommendation.
