I’ve been out for a little because life got busy but I’m back with a Blogger Recognition Award post! 😀
I was nominated for this award by Kay over at The Desert Bibliophile back in June. Thank you, Kay! I really appreciate the recognition and I apologize for the tardiness of this post. The Blogger Recognition Award was originally created by Eve over at Edge of Night. The intent of the award is straight-forward, but I also like award posts because I usually discover new blogs to follow through them. So I’d like to congratulate all who I’ve nominated and I hope all who read this post will discover a new blog to follow as well.
The rules (as posted by Eve):
- Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
- Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
- Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
- Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
- Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing! (It happens LOL).
My story:
How did this blog come about, you ask? Well, once upon a time there lived a young lady who was torn about her unforeseeable future. She would lay in bed at night, twisting and turning as her worries roiled within her. She needed an outlet. Many a time she would crack open a book just to escape her worries and dive into someone else’s world for a time. The books helped. They were old friends.
Soon, she was introduced to the wonderful world of blogging, but though she began a blog and gave it a random name with not much thought — Zezee’s Link, — she had no clue what to post on it so she went with whatever came to mind: student loans, books, career, student loans, books, more books. She was new to this side of the internet and didn’t dedicate much time to it. Actually, she had no clue why she was blogging or if she should continue. As her personal life began to brighten — student loans got paid; well, some — and her future became a bit clearer — she’d formed a plan, — she began to pay more attention to her blog and realized that books were a constant topic. Since she didn’t have many close friends who were interested in the same books as she — or who loved them as much — she decided to join the bookish community in the blogosphere and dedicate her blog to her interests: books and art. She later switched the blog’s name to Zezee with Books to reflect her main interest.
Now that she had a focus, she was able to dedicate herself to her blog and interact more with the community. She had fun with it and began to look forward to blogging. She was surprised at how much her blog had grown and the new skills she had picked up as a blogger, which were sometimes helpful at her job. She is still blogging away with no intention to stop in the near future.
My advice:
Blogging should be fun. My first advice is that you should enjoy it, especially if you’re not blogging for work. You should enjoy it and not be stressed by it.
Other advice: It’s good to post regularly. Schedules are helpful and some bloggers use them. I do not like schedules because they make me feel restricted so I don’t use them but I do try to post as regularly as I can. Also, interact with others. I’m shy even on the internet so when I started my blog, I didn’t interact much but you can do it in steps: visit some else’s blog a few times and when you work up the courage, go ahead and leave a comment. Also, as Kay says in her post, don’t give up. If you’re not sure about what you want to blog about or how to navigate blogs, there are many useful websites you can visit to get useful tips. Just keep going at it until you find your footing.
