I’ve seen this going around so I decided to participate because I’d like to know how many books I can get through in a week if I don’t have to work, and since I’m on vacation, the timing is perfect.
I usually shy away from reading challenges because they seem stressful, especially when other areas of my life are chaotic but Bout of Books is supposed to be fun and I have the time so why not. If you’re new to this as I am, here’s some info on the event:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 17th and runs through Sunday, August 23rd in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 14 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
I’ll probably not participate in the challenges and just observe from the sidelines. Anyways, here’s what I’ll attempt to read and my goal. I doubt I’ll get through all the material listed here but I’m restricting myself to read only books from this list.
Read in a different place everyday
Jason and the Argonauts by Apollonius of Rhodes(already started and intend to finish)
Splintered by A.G. Howard
The High King by Lloyd Alexander
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Juniper Berry by M.P. Kozlowsky
A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan
The Sport of the Gods by Paul Laurence Dunbar
The Wife of His Youth by Charles W. Chesnutt
Saga, Vol. 2 by Brian K. Vaughan
Rat Queens, Vol. 2 by Kurtis J. Wiebe
New Spring (Wheel of Time series) by Robert Jordan
The Battle of Blood and Ink by Jared Axelrod

Good luck 😮
Thanks, I’ll need all the luck.
Wow, that’s a lot! I’ve heard great things about Splintered and Shadow and Bone so let me know how that goes. I’m also participating! My Bout of Books 14.0
I doubt I’ll get to all of them. My prediction is I’ll read all the short stuff and maybe 1 book.
Oh, that sounds like so much fun! Too bad for once I’ll be busy this week… Good luck!
