Yesterday was Day 6 of Bout of Books 14 and I’m late with the update. You see, I was tired. Exhausted, actually. I’ve started to workout a bit and run in the mornings to build up my stamina in case a herd of cows stampede through Washington D.C. I need to be able to outrun them. My body was tender from exercising and I made it tired by walking around the downtown area. Then I went to the zoo and was exhausted by the time I left. For me, that’s a lot for one day so I didn’t get much reading done.
Saturday, Day 6 progress

Quick synopsis
Juniper Berry and her friend, Giles, are worried about their parents. Their parents changed since acquiring their dreams and became cruel and disinterested in their kids. They only care about their careers. Curious about what has happened to their parents, the kids investigate the woods behind their house for answers.
Quick thoughts
Not a great synopsis but it’s what I’m going with. The story scared me though it’s not scary, just unsettling. I like the tension within it. You can’t help feeling sorry for Juniper and sympathizing with her and cheering her on as she fights against powerful temptations. The illustrations were few but I liked them though they aren’t in color.
Where did I read?
On the bus
On the train
In bed
Ha ha ha, running from cows 😀
They can run really REALLY fast, even calf’s can go like the clappers!
My advice is to climb a tree, if there’s any to be had in Washington dc.
But if it’s escaped tiger’s at the zoo, I’d recommend running, just a bit faster than the slowest should do.
