Book Haul #11: F**k that Book-Buying Ban

I am supposed to be on a book-buying ban but I’ve changed my mind. I think I’ll stop doing them for a few months and just monitor my spending wisely and be more rational when it comes to books.

The following are books I acquired before and after my very short book-buying ban.

Book Outlet

Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz

I watched the Lifetime TV adaptation of this book and got hooked so I bought the book out of curiousity. I don’t think the show was well-executed because of all the gaping holes in the plot and characters doing stupid things for no reason other than to advance the plot in a certain direction so I hope the story is better.

Here, There Be Dragons by James A. Owen

I was so happy when I saw this on Book Outlet. The cover above is the one I wanted but I received another. Oh well.

National Book Festival

A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James

I discussed purchasing this book in a Weekend Reads post so I won’t bother going into detail on how I GOT IT SIGNED 😀 here.

Barnes and Noble

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I’m participating in Random Readalongs and this is the book for September. I’ve already completed it. Review coming soon.

Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett

I’d like to try one of Pratchett’s books so I thought it best to start with this one.

Fail, Fail Again, Fail Better by Pema Chödrön

It’s a short book and I’ve already completed it but I think I read it too quickly.

And that’s it for this book haul.

Share your thoughts below on these books if you’ve read them or let me know what books you’ve recently acquired.

Happy reading! 😀
