Weekend Reads is a weekly discussion on a variety of topics. At the end of the post, I’ll include what I plan to read on the weekend.
The question/topic for this weekend:
It’s Halloween! What are you plans?
Some of you might be getting dressed to go trick or treating while others are planning another night of bar hopping but in costume. Either way, I hope you have fun doing whatever it is you plan to do. What are my plans?
Well, I don’t celebrate Halloween so my goal today is to stay warm and cozy wherever I find myself to be. It’s highly likely that I’ll be curled around a book or reclined on a sofa watching some scary movies. I wish I could reorganize and catalog my books, boring work for some but highly exciting for me, but since I haven’t got a working laptop as yet, I can’t. Regardless, I’ll still enjoy the day. It’s a wonderful one so far and it’ll only get better.
Happy Halloween!
If you plan on dressing up and celebrating, let me know what your costume will be below. 😀
What I’m reading this weekend:
These are the possibilities for this weekend but I probably won’t read any. I’m in the mood for scary movies and anime: scary movies because it’s Halloween and anime because I REEAALLYY want to rewatch the Fullmetal Alchemist series. I really, really want to. I can’t stress that enough and I’m so happy about it too. I have no idea why.
As for the books, if I do read something, I’ll continue with She. It’s a short book — a little over 300 pages — but it’s boring. There are a few spots where the action grabs my attention but they are few. Still, my curiosity about She (the character) is high enough that I’ll continue. If I do decide to commit to reading for some time, I’ll also take a look at The High King. It’s the last book in the Chronicles of Prydain series and I’d like to know how it wraps up and just who are Taran’s parents. Plus, it would be good to complete the series now since I started reading the series this time last year. And if somehow my Fullmetal Alchemist bug flies off, I’ll take a look at Through the Woods.
If you plan to spend the weekend reading, share what you plan to pick up below.
Happy reading! 😀
I really want to read Through the Woods! I need to get my hands on a copy ASAP!

I got mine from Book Outlet for a great price so you can check to see if it’s still available there.

How do you go about selecting which books to read? Going to Amazon I see John Grisham is on the best seller list again with a tawdry tale about a seedy lawyer. But, does one really select books to read from the best seller list??
Also, I found out today that doing a book search on my old gen 2 Kindle is actually easier if you are browsing a whole category like “Travel”.
Boo humbug to Halloween but I may go out between rain showers to see what’s going on.

I choose whichever book that grabs my attention. These days I discover books through YouTube, the newsletters I’m subscribed to, and blogs. Other times, I just go to the bookstore a pick up things until I find one I can’t put down. How about you? How do you choose?
