Another month, another book haul. I received these in October, which is why the majority of them are dark and creepy.
Barnes & Noble
The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan
Soulless by Gail Carriger
The Black Mage: First Year by Rachek E. Carter
I enjoy reading Riordan’s books and I have all of them so I had to get his most recent as well. Soulless is a book I’ve wanted to read since it first came out and this copy was for sale on B&N’s website for $4, I think. I read an interview with Rachel E. Carter over on Sara Latourneau’s website and liked how she described her novel. Had to get it.
The Devil and Winnie Flynn by Micol Ostow and David Ostow
Daughters unto Devils by Amy Lukavics
These are from the recent Book Riot YA Quarterly Box. As you can see, it was Halloween themed. I’m not sure if I’ll read these since they aren’t my kind of books.
Locke & Key, Vol. 1: Welcome to Lovecraft by Joe Hill, illus. by Gabriel Rodríguez
Pisces #1 by Kurtis J. Wiebe, illus. by Johnnie Christmas
Guardians of the Galaxy #1 by Brian Michael Bendis, illus. by Valerio Schiti [It’s a preview.]
I visited a new comic bookshop and picked up these. I’ve heard great things about Locke & Key and the seller at the store recommend Pisces and since I’m a pisces, I had to get it. That preview is free and I’m all for free things.
The Isle of Blood by Rick Yancey
The Curse of the Wendigo by Rick Yancey
Horns by Joe Hill
The Thickety: A Path Begins by J.A. White
I enjoyed The Monstrumologist so much that I had to get the next two books in the series by Rick Yancey. Though I thought it would be stupid, I really enjoyed the movie Horns so I got the book to see if I’ll like it too. And I’ve been curious about The Thickety series so I got the first book.
