Liebster Awards again

Liebster Award 3

It’s time for another round of Liebster Awards. Thank you Sara Letourneau and Codie at Reader’s Anonymous for nominating me for these. I appreciate it! 😀

The rules for the awards are as follows:
  1. Link back to the person who nominated you.
  2. Answer the questions given to you by the nominator.
  3. Nominate up to 11 other bloggers.
  4. Create 11 questions for the nominees.
  5. Notify all nominees via social media and/or their blogs.

I’ll start with Sara’s questions:

What is one thing you absolutely must do every morning, or else you feel like something is missing from your routine?

It’s probably brushing my teeth. The day doesn’t really start until my teeth are brushed.

Describe your sense of humor. Is it dry, snarky / sarcastic, silly / slapstick, etc.? What kinds of things make you laugh?

Silly. Definitely silly.

Name one thing you were terrified of as a child.

The dark. It’s so easy to lose yourself in it.

What is your favorite time of day (e.g., sunrise or sunset, morning / afternoon / night, etc.)?

Sunrise! 😀 Oh I love the morning sun. It’s bright, it’s fresh, it’s new, it’s invigorating. I love it.

What is your favorite song from the year you were born?

Umm…probably some rock song but I don’t have an answer.

What book would people be most surprised to know is one of your all-time favorites?

Skyscraper

Skyscraper by Zane because it’s erotica.

Who are some of your favorite creative inspirations outside your preferred medium? For example, if you’re a writer, who are some of your favorite musicians, photographers, or artists (if you have any)?

Awesome question! Well, when it comes to creative inspirations, I mostly admire writers or artists, especially those who continue to work at their art despite their hardships. Since I consider myself a writer, my favorite creative artist inspirations are M.S. Escher, Chuck Close, Frida Kahlo, and also Peter Deligdisch, who goes by Peter Draws on Youtube. I enjoy watching his videos. Here’s a recent one:

What are some of your favorite food scents?

Curry. Onions, but only when mixed with other seasonings. The scent of anything baking.

You’ve had a bad day, and a loved one offers to make whatever you want for dinner. What would be your “cheer-me-up” meal?

Curried chicken feet. Yum! It’s not for everyone but I love it spicy and with dumplings, Jamaican dumplings.

Do you know what your MBTI Personality Type is? Do you agree that it matches who you are?

Yes, I’m INFP and yes, it matches. No matter how many times I take that test I always get the same result. By the way, the illustration of the woman on the 16 Personalities INFP webpage is how I imagine myself.

Name five (5) things you would want in your dream home. If you already consider your current home as your “dream home,” name your five (5) favorite things about it.

Ah! I love this question! Okay my dream home would have bay windows with window seats, high ceilings, light hardwood floors, built-in bookshelves, and large windows. I love me some sun.

Liebster Award 4

Codie’s questions:

Have you ever been to a different country? If so, which ones? If not, where would you like to visit?

Yes, Trinidad & Tobago. I loved it and I want to return for Carnival. I’ve been saying that for years but I hope it actually works out. I would say the United States but I no longer count it.

What’s the worst present you’ve ever received, or the best?

The worst….I’ll say the best, which was a gift card for books. My cousin gave me one once and so did a friend and in my eyes, they are the best gifters ever!

A book you were obsessed with that you currently hate, or the reverse.

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby. I hated it the first time I read it back in high school but loved it when I reread it.

A song that changed your life.

The first soca song I ever heard. I don’t remember what it was but it was love at first sight, or hearing. I love me some soca.

What’s your favorite time of day?

The afternoon. Sun is high, everyone’s up, there’s lots of energy, people are usually in a good mood.

What’s your favorite season and why?

Summer. It’s warm, less clothes, more to do, lots of sun, the trees are green, the world smells great.

What was your tipping point book? (this is the book that made you fall in love with reading)

That would be either The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, or Nancy Drew and the Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene.

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?

panda baby

A panda! 😀 I love pandas.

What is the weirdest food you enjoy?

Probably the curried chicken feet. Mmmhhh!!

Favorite hero/sidekick combo.

Harry and Ron.

Do you like anti-hero’s? If so, why and do you have a favorite? If not, why?

I do sometimes but only when it’s someone like Bilbo Baggins who doesn’t look or act like the conventional hero.

I won’t tag anyone this time but I do have a question for everyone who reads this post. It’s one of Codie’s questions, actually:

What is the weirdest food you enjoy?

  1. Yay! 🙂 It was great to read your answers, Zezee.

I’ve never heard of Peter Deligdisch or seen his work before now – but wow! It’s so intricate and fantastical. Really cool.

And I LOVE your answers to the dream house question. It gives the impression of an airy, open space. And built-in bookshelves = must-have. 😀

What’s the weirdest food I enjoy? I… don’t really think I eat anything weird. But I do crave vegetables and salad some days, so I don’t know if that counts…

    1. Yea, it’s so detailed. I found out about him on Youtube. I’d draw along with his videos sometimes.
Haha! Yea, open and airy is what I love. Lots of light and all my books. What are your top 5 things other than the built-ins?
Lol, well I’ll count the vegetables because I think they’re weird. I have to force myself to eat them. When I was a kid, I thought I’d naturally begin to enjoy them when I became an adult. Unfortunately, that isn’t so.

      1. Hmmmm, my other “dream house” priorities would be:

        1) Just enough space. I don’t need anything huge, which is why I like my condo.

        2) A separate “office” space for all my books and for where I can write. Right now it’s either my living room corner or my bedroom, and it would be nice to give my craft its own designated room, so to speak.

        3) A bigger kitchen than what I have now. Again, not huge, but I run out of counterspace so easily during food-prep and baking.

        4) Laminate wood floors. Or basically, no carpet. The former is much easier to maintain and keep clean.

        5) Ummmmmm…. I’ll have to get back to you on that. *lol*

        1. Sounds good. I agree with you about the separate room/office for work. I’d like one of those. I kinda have one but it’s in the basement and I hate basements.
