Orang-utan Librarian questions:
If time travelling was an option, which historical figure would you most like to meet?
I actually don’t know. I’d like to meet someone who can answer all or as many questions as I can think up so maybe the best person to meet would be God; but that would be scary because if I annoy him, he might smite me or something.
Leonardo da Vinci, maybe, because he’s done so much. I’d ask if he really created all that people say he did. I’m very skeptical about history.
And who would you like to meet if it wasn’t an option?
I don’t really understand the question but I’m just gonna go with Rasputin because he’s interesting… Maybe he should have been my answer for the first question.
When daydreaming about time travelling (c’mon we all do it!) do you worry about the butterfly effect?
Umm… so I don’t daydream about time travel but I do worry about the butterfly effect. Usually I’d just muse about time travel and what would happen if it’s done and how the future will change. I mostly worry about getting stuck in a time loop.
….I guess the short answer to this question is Yes.
What are your feelings about James Bond?
He aight. He was cool when I was kid.
If you were a spy, what gadget would you most like to have?
Hmm… I more fantasize about having crazy fighting skills but those cool glasses that make you see through anything would be cool.
Would you make a good international superspy or a bad one? Why?
I don’t know. With training, I think I’d be really good. Otherwise, I’ll mess up the details of everything when debriefed.
How often do you fly in dreams?
I can’t recall dreaming about flying. Dreaming about a scary dude popping out my attic and grabbing me by my hair? Yes.
If you could reinvent the world, what colour would you make the sky?
I’d keep it blue. Blue is soothing.
If you’d been born in the dark ages, do you reckon you’d have believed the earth was flat?
Probably. But I’d be somewhere in west Africa and since I don’t know anything about Africans during that time, I have no idea what I would believe. I guess it would be some variation of whatever the popular belief was.
On a scale of one to ten, how surreal do you feel like these questions are getting?
Lol! Let’s go with a 7.
I’ve run out of questions- do ten star jumps!
Umm, no. My tummy hurts. Ow.
Rachel’s questions:
Describe how did you first get into blogging?
Well, I forgot how I found out about blogging, but I created a blog back in college that I’ve since forgotten the name of. Then I created this one but didn’t know what to talk about on it so I had it as a private blog until I slowly began to open up and make it public. When I realized that I mostly discuss books on here, I decided to make it a book blog and since books are what I’m passionate about, I stuck with blogging and returning to publish posts on here.
What do you do in your spare time?
Read, blog, what TV shows, draw, color, hang out with family. Not much. Nothing exciting because my status is consistently broke.
What is your favorite genre of music?
Soca.
What book do you always recommend to other readers?
Probably The Book of Night Women by Marlon James, which I should reread because I’m starting to forget details.
What is your favorite word? Least favorite?
I can’t remember. For me, favorite words are fleeting. I love them when I hear them and forget them soon after. But I always remember words I hate, like entrepreneur — too many damn syllables.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I really would like to go Europe to look at buildings. But right this moment, I’d like to go either to Hawaii for a week to just chill, sleep, and read, or go to Charleston, SC, or New Orleans, LA, to check out the architecture there and food.
What’s your favorite season?
SUMMER!!!! Summer, Summer, Summer!!! And it’s coming!! You have no idea how excited I am that the cold is ending and the warm is coming.
What is the best TV show you have ever watched?
Hard question. That’s like asking what’s my favorite book. And it’s not hard because I have many answers but because the TV shows always get wack after a while becoming either formulaic or the characters lose the spark they started with. Let’s see, House of Cards on Netflix is still going good but I haven’t watched the most recent season; Heroes, the original one, was great for its first 2 or 3 seasons; Supernatural was great before it became repetitious (I still love it); Blacklist was good but then that last episode happened and now I don’t know what to think — Oh! You asked for “show,” not “shows.” I went off there. TV shows are a touchy subject for me.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Silly. Spacey. Random.
Where do you buy most of your books?
Barnes & Noble.
What’s the hardest thing about blogging?
Finding the time to read and comment on other bloggers’ posts. I prefer to read on my Ipad rather than my laptop, but it’s easier to comment when on my laptop. And I follow a lot of people so it’s hard to keep up with everyone’s posts.
I nominate:
EVERYONE!! ❤
Summer, THE BEST TIME OF YEAR, is coming so I’m spreading sunshine to EVERYONE with this award!
Congrats to you all!!
Here are my questions, if you decide to do a post:
- What is your favorite season?
- What do you love to do in the summer?
- Summer rain, sweet rain. That soft, mist-like rain that falls when the weather is humid. I don’t have a question. I’m just reminiscing on summer. Reminisce on summer.
- Beach!!! Do you enjoy going to the beach? Do you build sandcastles, read a book, or play a beach sport, like volleyball?
- Bugs. Eew! What do you hate about summer?
- Ice cream! Yum. What desert do you love to eat?
- I should ask a serious question, shouldn’t I? Umm…What do you plan to read this summer?
- What’s your least liked book? Why don’t you like it?
- Have you every given up on a book? So far, I’ve given up on 2 this year. What makes you stop reading a book?
- Do you know how to get rid of a groundhog? No? Well, if you were to come back as an animal in your next life, what animal would you like to be? (I’d be a panda. A panda that reads.)
- I was about to publish when I realized I only wrote 10 questions. What should the 11th question be?
Da Vinci is a great choice! He’d be so interesting to talk with!

hahaha I forgot how weird those questions got! Whoops- sorry about that! Glad you did it though- it was hilarious to read. And I meant who’d you like to meet in the present- sorry that wasn’t clear- although Rasputin would be a funny answer anyway- imagine him Anastasia style all corpse like and singing “in the dark of the night”- that would be good. haha I liked what in roundabout way you decided that it you did worry about the butterfly effect :p welcome aboard the bizarre-daydream-worrier train. And that’s a clever way to think about the flat earth theory- I reckon I’d have just gone with the popular theory if that was where the evidence of it- I couldn’t have believed without evidence that the earth was round (if that makes sense)

Haha! Soca is great. It’s an uptempo Caribbean genre of music (probably not a great definition of it but close). Here’s a mix with some oldies

I still need to watch House of Cards, I’ve heard such good things about it! Summer is also my favorite season, and honestly I want to travel to Hawaii right now too. I haven’t really listened to much Soca music, can you recommend me some songs/singers? I’m always looking for new music to listen to. You’re very welcome for the nomination!

House of Cards is so good! I love it. And I’m now starting to like Empire because it reminds me of Game of Thrones, lol.
As for soca, anything by Machel Montano is good. I love, love, love his music! And once you start with him, it’s easy to find other songs. Here’s a good mix of oldies by goodies. Makes me feel like dancing now. Woooiieee!! 😀
