This sounds so fun! 😀 It was created Biblionyan, who was inspired by her favorite video game music. Totally check out her post too.
I hope y’all will find here some booty to claim in my GIVEAWAY!!
Let’s begin.

Arrrr! – I Concur.
Name a book with a character that you identified the most with.
Soledad & Marjorie
Both are immigrants and both experience feelings of displacement, as if they don’t fully belong to the culture/country they were born into or the one they adopted when they immigrated.
Soledad is the protagonist from Soledad by Angie Cruz, a novel about a girl who must return home to care for her mother who has fallen into a coma. Marjorie is a protagonist from Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, a historical fiction novel that follows the descendants of two sisters from West Africa.
Avast! – Knock it off.
Name a book with a character that drove you batty from irritation.
Abigail and Luke
These are two of the POV characters from Gilded Cage by Vic James, a YA sci-fi/fantasy novel set in present day U.K. but some peeps have magic powers and they enslave those who don’t. I enjoyed reading the story, but the world building fell flat for me and these characters were beyond annoying. Well, more Abigail than Luke. I just didn’t see the point of some of her decisions.
Booty! – Loot.
Name your favourite special editions (or any specific editions) of books that you own.
Tawny Man trilogy
This is the edition of these books I own, and I love them so much!!! They look so great on my fantasy shelf.
The Tawney Man trilogy is the third set of trilogies in the Robin Hobb’s Realm of the Elderlings series, which starts with Assassin’s Apprentice, the first in the Farseer trilogy. They are fantasy novels about the bastard son of a prince and much more.
Mistborn trilogy
I haven’t yet read these, but the U.K. edition looks so great on my shelves. 😀 The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson is quite popular and involves a magic system that uses metals…I think.
Harry Potter series
I love almost all editions of the Harry Potter books and was beyond excited when the house color editions of the Sorcerer’s Stone were published last year. I’m a Ravenclaw, but I love yellow so much that I had to get the Hufflepuff version of this book; though I do feel guilty now about it and wish I’d gotten the Ravenclaw version. But the yellow looks so great! 😀
Winternight trilogy
Only two books of this YA Russian-inspired fantasy trilogy has been published so far. I’m not a huge fan of the first book, The Bear and the Nightingale, but I love the design of the U.K. covers. They are so pretty and detailed.
Doubloon! – Cash Money.
Name a book that you unhauled, or got rid of, and later regretted doing so.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
I just removed this from my TBR a couple days ago when I did the Down the TBR Hole meme, but I was so conflicted about doing it that I was easily swayed by the many comments from folks who enjoyed the book as a kid. I’m an adult, but I think I’ll like it too despite my age. We’ll see.
Yo ho ho! – We’re Outta Rum.
Name a book that left you with on an unexpected cliffhanger, or had an ambiguous finale.
The Shining by Stephen King
Yeah…I didn’t expect the ending where Danny and his mom are in the apartment and what happens there. It made me want to give up my plan to read King’s novels in publication order and just jump to Doctor Sleep to find out what happens next.
SHIVER ME TIMBERS! – Holy Crap!
Name a book that had the most jaw-dropping plot twist you’ve read.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Superman: Red Son by Mark Millar, illus. by Dave Johnson and Kilian Plunkett
Gone Girl is a thriller about a man who’s accused of killing his wife. I knew what the plot twist was and I was still surprised by it as I read.
Superman: Red Son reimagines the all-American comic book hero as an advocate for Communist values. The end was so good, it blew my mind and made me immediately start rereading the story.
Well, yo ho ho! That’s the end of the tag.
Don’t forget to check out my GIVEAWAY, if you haven’t already.

Gosh.. I kinda regret getting the Katherine Arden books as ebooks – Those covers are stunning! I might actually buy them as well, if I see them somewhere. Especially since I am sure I’ll read the books again!
Haha, I do relate when it comes to ‘The Shining’. When I read it, ‘Doctor Sleep’ wasn’t published yet and I was a bit annoyed.. I don’t even think there was talk about a sequel yet. At least I didn’t hear anything. But when it was there, I had to read it immediately 😀
King’s endings…hit or terrible miss 😀 Mostly the second!

Lol on King’s endings. That one for the Shining was so freaky.
And yea, those Arden covers are so gorgeous.

Personally I prefer the original UK Harry Potter designs 🙂 And I totally loove The Shining including its ending! I have yet to read Doctor Sleep and I’ve read and loved many other King novels but I’m still hoping to read Doctor Sleep soon.
