Top Ten Tuesday #40: A Look Back

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish but is now managed by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic:

favorite books released in the last 10 years (one book for each year)

Yea, yea, I know it’s not Tuesday, but I really wanted to do this post after seeing it on many other blogs. Seeing other people’s posts gave me an idea to switch it up some and also include books from my TBR I really want to read that were published in the years mentioned below. Since we are in May and I am participating in #WyrdandWonder, this post will feature only fantasy novels and comics.

So for each of the 10 years listed below, I’ll mention fantasy books published that year that are my favorites and that are top of my TBR.

2018
Favorite: Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

It’s the second novel in the middle-grade fantasy series Nevermoor, which is about a girl who is considered to be cursed and unlucky but is carried off to a new city where she learns that she might have an amazing knack that might gain her entrance into the prestigious Wondrous Society. It’s a fun read that’s similar to the early Harry Potter books.

On my TBR: One of Us by Craig DiLouie

I think this is an alt-historical fiction, fantasy novel about kids who have been altered in some way and how they are treated by society…? The reviews I’ve read make it sound interesting and dark and twisty. I’m intrigued.
