Weekend Reads is a weekly post in which I discuss a variety of topics and mention the books I plan to read on the weekend. However instead of a topic, I’ll instead share my progress on my N.E.W.T.s (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests).
Oh man! I’ve been reading so much, I’m surprised my eyes haven’t popped out yet.
Astronomy
All done. Yeahie me! 😀
Divination
All done. Yeahie me! 😀
Additional
Reading The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Clair. I’m nearing the end, y’all! I’m almost there. I can see the light!
History of Magic
Making progress. I’m close to the O.
Books read: Cinderella: or the Little Glass Slipper by Charles Perrault, illus. by Camille Rose Garcia; Emperor Mage by Tamora Pierce
Charms
I have an E! I’m considering to go for the O, but I think I’m gonna change my mind and not read much the last couple days of August.
Books read: The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill; Fullmetal Alchemist, Vols. 7-9 by Hiromu Arakawa (illus.)
Herbology
I’m reaching for E by reading Kiss of the Spindle by Nancy Campbell Allen. I think I’ll get it.
Books read: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling, narr. by Jim Dale
Transfiguration
I might also stop at E on this one.
Books read: Moonstruck, Vol. 1: Magic to Brew by Grace Ellis, illus. by Shae Beagle
Still haven’t started Potions yet, but I might stop at A on that one since it’s not my favorite subject.
What I’m currently reading:

The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Clair
I should be able to complete it this coming week. I’m only about 100 pages from the end.
The Lost Years of Merlin by T.A. Barron
I’m currently buddy-reading this with Millie from Milliebot Reads as a reread because we both read it as kids. The story is slow and a bit of a bore, but I don’t mind reading it. Should be able to complete it next week.
Kiss of the Spindle by Nancy Campbell Allen
I enjoyed the first book, Beauty and the Clockwork Beast, so much that I was eager to get going on this audio book. I’m enjoying it so far. I think I’ll be able to complete it next week too.
Sounds like you’re doing really good! That Merlin books sounds curious. Hope it ends up good for your sake hahah
