Top Ten Tuesday #46: Mardi Gras Theme

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic:

Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers
(in honor of Mardis Gras, which is today!)

I’ve always wanted to attend Mardi Gras and, if not for corona, I’d most likely have been there this year. But instead, I’ll celebrate it on my blog by doing this TTT meme. Below is a selection of read and unread books that fit the theme. If I reviewed the book, I’ll link to the review.

(NOTE: If the layout below looks wonky, it’s most likely because you’re viewing this on your phone in the WordPress Reader app which, for some reason unknown to me, keeps messing up the layout when I use certain gallery settings to format image layouts. If you view it on the website instead, it will show correctly.)

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman
Infinite Spiral, Vol. 1: Another World by Kristy Cunningham (illus.)
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists by J.K. Rowling
Under the Pendulum Sun by Jeannette Ng
Fablehaven by Brandon Mull
Splintered by A.G. Howard
Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods by Tania del Rio & Will Staehle (illus.)
Saga, Vol. 7 by Brian K. Vaughan, illus. by Fiona Staples

We Need New Names by Noviolet Bulawayo
Watchmen by Alan Moore, illus. by Dave Gibbons

  1. I loved Take A Hint, Dani Brown! I’ve never been to a Mardi Gras celebration but I think it’d be cool to do so someday.

    1. Thanks! New Orleans is one of the top places I’d like to visit. I’m very interested in the architecture there. Infinite Spiral is also a webcomic. I have a link to it in my review, if it’s still up

  2. Nice mix! Never been to Mardi Gras. From this group I’ve only read Watchmen, which I enjoyed a little more on my second reading. And I think I watched the Stardust movie.

  3. Beautiful, colorful covers. I had to look for some Google photos when I when first read this title. Mardi Gras looks like so much fun. I hope you will get to attend the next one.

  4. If some of ya’ll never been down south too much
They got a plant that grows in the woods and fields,
    Looks somethin like turnip green,
    Everybody calls it polk salad

Some great drumming to be seen with SINA jamming with ELVIS

  5. I am so eager to travel again! Please please let us be able to travel safely again someday! So many place I want to visit. Never been to Mardi Gras or New Orleans before. The yellow stack has one of my favorite books in it, Brief History of Seven Killings.
