Star Trek: The Original Series

A corny yet entertaining book

The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healy, illus. by Todd Harris

It’s a middle grade fantasy novel about the princes charming from fairytales. It was an entertaining read, but the humor was a little corny at times. Still, I enjoyed it and do intend to read the next book… whenever I get to it.

Let’s Rewind: October 2021

October was quite a month. Overall it was a good one, but it was filled with some high ups and some low downs, which has exhausted me. I haven’t been in the mood to do much, which is why this monthly wrap up post is so late.

Let’s Rewind is a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

Y’all, I love fall. I don’t like the cold weather, but I do love dressing for fall months, and I love the colors associate with it. I love the leaves turning and hearing the fallen ones crunch under my boots. I love the scents of fall — apples, cinnamon, pumpkin — and the outdoor activities that it brings — hay rides, corn mazes, haunted houses and fields, apple picking, — although I’ve only been to a few of these things. But it seems that I’ll always be stressed in the fall. I can’t remember a time when I rode out the entire season unstressed.

So there I was… unprepared for the blogging week but wanting to throw up something. Then I remembered that it’s SciFiMonth. Hosted by the Wyrd & Wonder crew, this is a monthlong celebration of all things scifi. I wanted to participate but guess what? I’m unprepared. No surprise there.

Well, I said to myself, I’ll participate in a minor way by cheering from the sidelines. And do you know what that means? No? It means scifi book tags throughout the month!! 😆

I actually don’t have that many scifi-themed book tags on my “To Do” list of tags, but there was a Star Trek tag there with a link that no longer works. A quick googling later and I was in luck: I found four different Star Trek book tags! Of course, I was excited and wanted to do them all in one long post, but I’ll be patient and do them in separate ones. Here’s the first one I found.

Book Haul #78: Unprepared

It’s winding down to the end of the year, so things are pretty busy, which means I’m almost always unprepared for the blogging week. That’s when the book tags pop up! 😊

Much as I love doing them, I’m hoping to get out some reviews this week. I’m not sure how that’s gonna go since I haven’t written any reviews this weekend, but we’ll see what I come up with during the week. For now, here’s a book haul, which I hope will be the last one for the year.
