This week’s topic:
Well… the theme for this month’s topic is scavenger hunt, so every week participants had to find books that contain the week’s object on the cover or in the title. I… didn’t participate because life, so I’ve decided to do all the month’s topics in this post.
I’ll start with the topic for this week.
…book with a book on the cover
Book Love by Debbie Tung (illus.)
Here’s one with many books on the cover! I recently read this humorous graphic novel and am convinced that it’s one every book lover should have. It’s about the shenanigans we get up to as book lovers. Just a quick, fun read.
…book with a clock on the cover
The Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene
It’s the first novel in the Nancy Drew series, which I loved as a kid. I don’t seem to have any books with a clock on the cover, so I went for one in the title instead.
…book with jewels on the cover
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
I almost had to pass on this one because I couldn’t find a book in my collection that has jewels on the cover or in the title. But then I remembered that the UK edition of one the Harry Potter books has a bunch of jewels on it. I got lucky!
…book with a throne on the cover
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
This was an easy one since I love this cover of Ned on the iron throne.
…book with a doorway on the cover
In by Will McPhail (illus.)
It took forever to find a book that fits this category. I just don’t seem to any of these on my book covers. Well, In is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel about a young man trying to connect with the people he meets. It was an okay read.
