And I’m back with my Bout of Books wrap up. I’m mad late with this because I wasn’t in the mood to blog this past week.
The 20th edition of Bout of Books was from August 21 – 27. I assigned myself 3 goals and a bunch of fucking books because I was feeling ambitious, though most of the books were comics. Let’s see if I was successful.

Another Bout of Books is sweeping through the book blogosphere and I’m infected! 😀
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda at On a Book Bender and Kelly at Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins at 12:01 a.m. Monday, August 21, and runs through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 27, in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 20 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. — From the Bout of Books team
Bout of Books is one of my favorite readathons because of how laid back it is. As with all the readathons I participate in, I always make a TBR that I never follow and always do a post (this one) announcing my intent to participate but never join in any social media events/challenges (I don’t have time for all that). I’m also usually on vacation when the summer Bout of Books rolls around, but I’m working this time. 😦

Weekend Reads is a weekly post in which I discuss a variety of topics and mention the books I plan to read on the weekend.
For this weekend’s post, I’ll report on my progress for the Tome Topple Readathon, which was held August 4 – 17. The purpose of readathon is to encourage folks to read the longer books on their shelves, i.e. books over 500 pages. I decided to join the fun because this readathon is more than a week long and because I wanted to see if I could rise to the challenge.
I did. And it was a —
I am proud of myself for completing several tomes during this readathon and meeting most of the goals. (I celebrated by partying.) 😆

YES! 😀 Tome Topple is back and I’m gonna participate!
I’ve wanted to do this readathon ever since booktuber Sam from Thoughts on Tomes started it last year, but never got the chance to. But I think I’ll have the time now. All I’ll do is work and read. 😀 That’s paradise for me, y’all (except the work part).
The whole point of Tome Topple is to read big books (over 500 pages). Being a readathon, it crunches the allotted time to complete the book(s) to 2 weeks. Of course, there’s no pressure to actually complete the book(s) during that time. The readathon simply encourages us all to read the larger books on our shelves.
This round of Tome Topple will run from midnight on August 4 to 11:59 p.m. on August 17. I’m so ready for it!!

Well, my blogging has been off lately. Last week passed without me posting a thing because (1) I forgot to post this update and (2) I didn’t feel like blogging. I was hooked on the books I was reading, or speeding through them so I could return them to the library. I hate returning books unread.
Bout of Books is one of my favorite readathons and is usually the only one I participate in. For this one, I assigned myself four goals and 10 books, mostly comics, to accomplish in the week, May 8-14. But was I successful? We’ll see. Of my goals —
Read books checked out from the library, or at least start them.
Read at home and before bed. No electronics.
— I did all except one — no electronics before bed. I think I did that for one night, but there were a couple events on Sims Freeplay that I didn’t want to pass up sooo I had to play before bed. However, I was surprised that I read at home and got started on my library books.
As for the 10 books I listed to read, I only read two. HOWEVER, I did read three other books that were not on my list (which proves that I should stop making TBR lists). Here are what I read and my ratings, starting with the two books from my list:

Bout of Books is back! And perfect timing too because I’m sick. (This is the only time I’ll be excited about being ill.)
Bout of Books is the only readathon I’ve consistently participated in each year. I don’t know what it is about this readathon that makes me commit to it, but I usually read whatever books I assign myself for it. As usual, I won’t participate in challenges because I don’t have time for them and I’ll probably forget to.
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda at On a Book Bender and Kelly at Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01 a.m. Monday, May 8, and runs through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 14, in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. The Bout of Books readathon is back! I decided to participate again this year since I enjoyed doing so last year. I’m not a fan of week-long readathons, but I like this one because it’s more relaxed. Here’s more information on what it’s about:

I doubt I’ll participate in the challenges and all that because I’ll either forget to or I just won’t have the time. As for what I’ll read, I’ll try to limit myself to the books I borrowed from the library.
