Let’s Rewind: December 2020

Despite how much of an ass 2020, it still seems as if it flew by.

Let’s Rewind is a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

December.

It wasn’t too bad. Sure the Christmas spirit wasn’t flowing strongly through me, filling me with Christmas cheer and making me run around racking up a huge bill while buying everyone presents, but I still enjoyed the holiday and the time off to just relax.

Let’s Rewind: December 2019

It’s a few days before the end of December and although I hate to hurry the end of the year, I thought I’d go ahead and post my wrap up now since I doubt I’ll start and complete another book before the end of the year. Plus, I have loads of other things to post, like my favorite books of 2019 and my reading stats! 🙂

Let’s Rewind is my version of a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

I didn’t blog much in December. The month began in a rush. The busyness of November spilled over into December. I was doing so much that I barely had time for myself. Things began to slow down the week before Christmas and although I made goals to publish posts on here, I didn’t get around to them. Christmas came along and family was in town and I just didn’t feel like doing anything except read, sleep, and recuperate my strength.

What’s on Your Nightstand: December 2017

What’s on Your Nightstand is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the last Tuesday of every month that summarizes what you’ve read for the month, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read next. For my posts, I also include articles, music, art, TV shows, and whatever else I did in the month.

December is not done yet, but it’s been great so far and since we’re so close to its end, I think it’s safe to say it’s one of my best months of this year. I had so much fun in December anticipating the holidays and planning with friends and family and celebrating new friends, old friends, who I hadn’t seen in a very long time, and co-workers. It was a month of happiness and celebration and I was glad for it. Such is usually the case at this time of year. I’m always happy when family and friends get together to celebrate. As for what else I did this month, read on.

2016 Reading Wrap-Up: Fourth Quarter

Here’s the second of many wrap-ups that will be posted on this blog over the next few days. The following is a quick summary of the books and comics I read in the last quarter of 2016. I finished the year pretty strong by reading 24 things, but many of them were quite short or were audio books, so I got through them very quickly.

I started the year intending to read 60 books, but was discouraged in the early months and dropped my reading goal to 30 books. However by the end of the second quarter, I was doing so well that I bumped it back up to 60 and now, at the end of the year, I’m able to end with a strong 88 books read, which includes comics and audio books. I’m a pretty happy booknerd at the moment. 😀

What’s On Your Nightstand: December 2016

What's On Your NightstandIt’s December, which means it’s wrap-up season. Everyone’s wrapping up something, whether it’s presents or the books, or posts, or goals. I was at a loss at first on how to do this because there is an overkill of wrap ups in the blogosphere and I tend to do two wrap ups every quarter: one is a monthly wrap up, a new feature I started this year, and the other is a quarterly wrap up. I thought it would be too much for readers if I should do both of these plus the several reflection posts I usually do at the end of the year, but then I thought about why I blog and that made me feel better about doing whatever the hell I want.

I love having people read and like my posts, but the only way I can maintain my sanity on here is to remember why I blog and that is to entertain my damn self. 🙂 With that said, here’s what I consumed since my last What’s on Your Nightstand post.

What’s on Your Nightstand, is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the last Tuesday of every month that summarizes what you’ve read for the month, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read next. 2015 Reading Wrap-Up: Fourth Quarter

Fall is not my best time to read. I didn’t read as many books as I did in the prior quarters. The fall months are my busiest at work and because of that I was often too tired to pick up a book. Plus, I discovered an online game that I got so hooked on that I often forgot to read. Also fall is a time for great TV shows to premier so I was distracted by those too. Basically these were the months of distractions because that’s all I engaged in. Anyways, here are what I read.
