All About Halloween Book Tag

Happy Halloween!! 😀

Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating it while taking corona precautions.

Well, my book tag week has led up to this great holiday — HALLOWEEN!!! 😄😆🙃 — so here I am with the last tag, for now….

I found the All About Halloween Book Tag over on Madame Writer, who credits CatFairy Books as the creator. But it seems that CatFairy Books has taken down their blog. Aww…

Well, to the tag!

What are your favorite Halloween movies?

I have so many!

Halloween Book Covers Tag

Just a day left before Halloween, so here I am with the Halloween Book Covers Tag. I’ve seen it going around on several blogs and had to jump in on the fun too, especially for this themed book tag week.

The tag was created by Kristen at Metaphors & Moonlight. And the intention is to just find a book cover that matches each category. I love a great cover, so I’m happy to do this tag.

skull/skeleton/bones

Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett

It’s the 11th Discworld novel and the second one in the Death subseries. I haven’t read it yet, but my plan is to start on these after finishing the Witches subseries.

Monster Mash Book Tag

We are a few days closer to Halloween, so here’s the Monster Mash Book Tag! It was created by booktubers the Spine Breakers and is based on “Monster Mash” by Bobby ‘Boris’ Pickett & the Crypt-Kickers:

I found it over on Madame Writer last year and saved it so I could do it this year! 😄 Yes, I plan ahead sometimes. (*pats self on back*)

I was working in the lab late one night: What’s a book that kept you up at night?

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

I recently read this and although it starts out slow, I got so hooked that I’d stay up to get through more of it quicker. I just really needed to find out what’s going on, for the mystery to be solved.

Supernatural Book Tag

There I was… looking for another tag to do for this Halloween-themed book tag week when I thought to myself, “Hey, why not do a Supernatural book tag?!” It was a great idea, so I googled it and guess what? I found two. Ha!

But I only did one because it’s kind of long. So, if you’re a fan of the show, tuck in. If not, still tuck in because you could probably get some great book recs from this… or not. Anyway, I highly recommend the show. It’s about two brothers travelling across the U.S. in a car hunting supernatural things, the family business, and dealing with a whole bag of drama along the way, lol.

This Supernatural Book Tag seems to be quite old. I do not know who created it.

The Colt — If you could own a fictional item, what would you choose?

a wand

I try not to choose a Harry Potter book these days because it’s become so cliché to do so, but it’s hard not to for questions like this. I mean, who wouldn’t want a wand? You can do anything with it.

Gothic Book Tag

This tag will be quite tricky for me. The Gothic Book Tag was created by the Classics Club, which encourages folks to read classic books. I attempted to do the 50 classics in 5 years and failed miserably at it, lol. I wasn’t fully committed, but I still dip into a classic book every now and then.

The intent of this tag is to answer the questions with classic books in mind. Well, I know I’ll fail at that because I’ve read some classic books so long ago that details about them have faded. But I’ll try my best.

Which classic book has scared you the most?

Beloved by Toni Morrison

It’s a historical fiction novel about a woman who escaped slavery to Ohio. Many people believed she’d gone mad when she took extreme actions to prevent her kids from being sold into slavery. Years later, she’s still haunted by memories of the past and the spirit of her dead baby.

Spoopy Memes Book Tag, Pt. 2

Lol! I did the first part of this book tag exactly one year ago. If Emily at Embuhleelist keeps creating them, I guess it will become an annual event on my blog to do the Spoopy Memes Book Tag on October 26, lol!

Name a character that keeps repeating the same mistakes, despite having multiple opportunities to prevent them.

Nevare from Forest Mage by Robin Hobb

Emily chose Fitz from Robin Hobb’s Realm of the Elderlings series, so I’m gonna choose Nevare from Hobb’s Soldier Son trilogy, which Emily and I are currently buddy-reading. We are about to start the last book in the trilogy now — Renegade’s Magic. To me, Nev is as hardheaded as Fitz so far, and it took him until the end of the second book, Forest Mage, to realize that he should start trying to do things a bit differently. It was a bit frustrating to read about even if I understand the reason for his obstinacy.

Halloween Song Book Tag

I don’t celebrate Halloween, but I sure do enjoy the holiday and seeing people dress up for it. Like I do every year, I’ll honor the holiday on my blog by posting a Halloween-inspired book tag.

Here’s the Halloween Songs Book Tag. I found it on the blog Adventures with a Side of Espresso, but it was created by booktuber A Beautiful Chaos of Books. She also created a playlist for the tag on Spotify based on the songs included in the tag.

Thriller: A book that was an absolute page turner

Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou

It’s a nonfiction book that reads like a thriller. It had me hooked from the first page and kept me interested the entire time, mostly because I couldn’t believe that everything I was reading is true. It’s about Elizabeth Holmes and her startup company Theranos that lied about having built a machine that can run a variety of tests using a single drop of blood. Many invested millions into the company for a machine that never worked.

Spooky Book Tag

Time for more Halloween book tags!! 😀

Today I’m doing the Spooky Book Tag, which was created by booktuber the Book Pusher.

Corn Maze

What book had you confused and lost from the very beginning?

The Expanse

The first thing that came to mind was The Expanse TV show, which is an adaptation of a sci-fi book series of the same name by James S.A. Corey. The first book is Leviathan Wakes. The first season confused me, but I enjoyed it despite that and wanted to keep watching. (I didn’t; I hardly ever have time to watch TV.) I’d like to try the books. They’re often recommended to me.
