Let’s Rewind: January 2023

It’s been such a long time since I’ve done one of these posts (not since mid 2021, I think) that I feel much out of practice. But I’d like to bring it back this year. These posts then to be long (heh, heh), but they let me chat about books I wouldn’t otherwise review (those I reread) and share thoughts on things I wouldn’t do a separate post for.

Let’s Rewind is my version of a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

2021 and 2022 were such stressful, busy, trying years for me that I was surprised when I felt light and unburdened when January 2023 rolled around. I hope it’s a sign for how the rest of the year will be.

Let’s Rewind: January 2021

Can you believe it? We’re already a month into 2021 and already the year is shaping up to be one for MAJOR changes.

Let’s Rewind is a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. Typically, by the end of the month, one would say that it has flown by. And that’s usually the case for me too. Time always seems to be speeding off somewhere. But that wasn’t the case with January 2021 for me. It plodded along at a snail’s pace.

Let’s Rewind: January 2020

Okay, so January. Right.

The year got off on a slow, shaky start, but I think I’m good now.

Let’s Rewind is my version of a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. Yo, January was kinda rough. In my blogging life, it wasn’t bad because most of my posts were reflections on the previous year, and I love writing those. I had fun blogging, although I felt a little guilty that my reviews queue was piling up. My reading life, however, got off on a slow start. I spent the first couple weeks of January not reading anything and DNF’ing what I did start, but thank the bookish gods for audiobooks because they got me out of my slow funk and got my reading momentum going.

What’s on Your Nightstand: January 2018

What’s on Your Nightstand is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the last Tuesday of every month that summarizes what you’ve read for the month, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read next. For my posts, I also include articles, music, art, TV shows, and whatever else I did in the month.

OMG! A month has already gone. My year got off at a run. I was so busy in January that it’s been a while since I’ve had a full weekend at home. But it’s all good. I’m enjoying the year so far despite one drawback in my personal life and am hoping my major goal for the year will be fulfilled. I’d be so happy with myself if I meet that goal.

Reading-wise, January was a great month. I read 4 books, 1 of which was a reread by audio book but for the most part, I enjoyed them all. Blogging was also good. I started scheduling my posts last year and I think I’ll continue to do so this year. It makes my life easier. I also drummed up the courage to finally be able to host my first GIVEAWAY!!

What’s On Your Nightstand: January 2017

What's On Your NightstandWhat’s on Your Nightstand, is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the last Tuesday of every month that summarizes what you’ve read for the month, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read next. For my posts, I also include articles, music, art, TV shows, and whatever else I did in the month.

January was rough for me. After all the wrap-ups and reflections and look-ahead posts, I was drained and wasn’t in the mood to read or blog. I instead spent much of my time watching movies and TV shows and now have so many TV shows I want to keep up with that I’ll have to make a schedule for them. I also read a couple interesting articles because of the divisive administration currently in power in the U.S., but I didn’t keep track of them so unfortunately, I won’t be able to share much in that section. But, enough of my rambling. Here’s what I did in January.
