Comics Roundup #6: I try some single issues

And they were okay, but one stood out from the rest. However, this experiment with single issues made me realize that I don’t like them. They’re too short. I prefer to read the bind-up of issues in a volume so the story continues for a while before it stops. I think I reacted this way to single issues because I’m not used to reading comics and am coming to them from reading books, which are much longer.

I read these during the spring, in April and May, when I teetered on the edge of a reading slump. The comics helped me stay out of it. I also read them on my way to BookCon in Chicago, which was handy because they didn’t take up much space in my luggage and were perfect for the short amount of time I had for reading that weekend.

Comics Roundup #4: A Blast Into the Past

I read four graphic novels when I participated in Bout of Books 14. To read my thoughts on the first two comics I read, click here. What follows are my thoughts on Rat Queens and Saga. I’m so hooked on these series, that I had to include the second volume of both when choosing books for the readathon. My thoughts in this post will be short since it’s on the second volumes and I don’t want to give away too much. (Plus, I don’t have much to say other than they’re both great comics. Go read them!)

Bout of Books 14: Update 5

Yesterday was Day 5 of Bout of Books 14 but I was too tired to post anything. It was much better than Day 4. I read. The day was good. The sun was shinning, and I was smiling a bit more; though that was probably because I went for a run in the morning. Working out really does make you feel better. Yeah for endorphins. Anyways, the books.
