Let’s Rewind: November 2020

Ahh… November. My time of R&R.

Let’s Rewind is a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

Not much happened in November. I took some time away from blogging because I wasn’t in the mood for it then and spent the time reading mostly romance novels, which I haven’t done in a while. I was just in a romance mood, which I’d felt coming on because this is the time of year that I usually spend watching cheesy romance flicks and those Hallmark movies. I’m still in that happy-go-lucky romance mood, so I’m still bingeing on such books and movies.

Let’s Rewind: November 2019

November was all work and hardly any play, so I’m glad it’s December; although it seems that December is shaping up to be the same.

Let’s Rewind is my version of a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever else happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

This is what my November felt like:

What’s on Your Nightstand: November 2017

What’s on Your Nightstand is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the last Tuesday of every month that summarizes what you’ve read for the month, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read next. For my posts, I also include articles, music, art, TV shows, and whatever else I did in the month.

November was an odd month that staggered by in fits of enjoyment. All I can say is that it was great; the time I spent with family, friends, and alone were all immensely pleasurable and made November one of the best months of this year.

Books read:

I didn’t complete many books this month. I do the majority of my reading while travelling to work, but that has been difficult recently because my route changed. I no longer have a set chunk of uninterrupted time to spend reading. Instead, I have to be crafty about stealing time to read, which sucks. I guess I’ll have to start reading at home, which will be difficult because my home is a very distracting place (i.e. my family is loud).

What’s On Your Nightstand: November 2016

Here I write my first post on the first of December, heralding the start of Blogmas, an event I learned of on Embuhlee liest where one publishes a blog post every day for the month of December. I’m joining in. Can I do it? …Maybe.

It’s not an enthusiastic reply or a strong commitment, but it’s the best I can do at the moment because there’s no telling how busy my life will get in December. All plans are undecided at the moment, even where Christmas dinner will be.

What's On Your Nightstand

To kick off this event, I’ve decided to start with a wrap-up of November. In other words, a What’s on Your Nightstand post, which is a monthly meme hosted by 5 Minutes for Books on the last Tuesday of every month that summarizes what you’ve read for the month, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read next.

November was a weird month but I was glad for it, the month not the weirdness, because November means holidays and I needed a break. I welcomed the Thanksgiving holiday and went a bit overboard on my Black Friday shopping. Now I look forward to Christmas and New Year’s Day, though with a bit of trepidation because that would mean a new year has come and I haven’t yet done all I wanted to do this year (silly worries, I know).

In my reading life, I missed out on two bookish events that took place in November: Nonfiction November and Tome Topple. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time to participate in either and was swamped with the bunch of books I’d already started reading by then. Maybe I will participate next year…or not. I don’t do well with these reading events.
