Six Degrees of Fantasy Separation: Lord of the Rings to the Oddling Prince

After seeing Imyril’s Six Degrees of Separation post for Wyrd & Wonder (inspired by Kate’s meme over on Books Are My Favourite and Best), I decided to give it a go too although I felt daunted by the task because I never remember details about books for posts like this. I always draw a blank. (How will I connect one book to another?)

Well, I don’t know if I did it right, but here’s my attempt at it. I pulled up the virtual version of my bookshelves and set it to the fantasy books to help me out.

Weekend Reads #102: Goblin Emperor Readalong, Ch. 1-9

My plan was to use Weekend Reads for my bookshelf tour BUT I’m participating in the Wyrd & Wonder readalong for The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison and am enjoying the book too much to not answer the readalong questions for the chapters, so… Weekend Reads will be used for that instead. 😀

So far, The Goblin Emperor is a fantasy book that seems to be about a young man who suddenly, and unexpectedly, becomes emperor of his realm. I get the impression that the story will be only about political intrigues and that this world is filled with only goblins and elves since only those two types are mentioned in the first 9 chapters.

Well, then, now for Lisa’s questions — Lisa from Dear Geek Place is the moderator for the readalong on Goodreads and is a co-host of the Wyrd & Wonder fantasy celebration event.

These questions and answers will most likely contain SPOILERS so if you’re interested in what else I’m currently reading, skip to that section below.

Goblin Emperor Readalong Questions for Chapters 1-9:

The first thing that struck me about this book is the formality in the way the characters speak. What do you think of this style? Do you enjoy it?

Book Tag Week: Dragon Book Tag

Guess what I’m posting today?

Yep, it’s another post for BOOK TAG WEEK and since this is Wyrd & Wonder month, it will be fantasy-themed (no guarantee that all answers will be fantasy-related).

Today I’m doing the Dragon Book Tag created by booktuber the Dragon Queen’s Lair. Some of the categories have two questions, but I only did the first ones in the set. Anyway, to the tag!!

Uncle Iroh a.k.a. Dragon of the West

Amphiptere: a book that was too much for one story and should have picked one topic

Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman

Book Tag Week: Fantasy Book Tag

BOOK TAG WEEK!!!

Wyrd & Wonder!!!

Another book tag!!

Let’s go!

Today I’m doing the Fantasy Book Tag, which I found on Reading Madness/Through Bookshelves.

What is the longest fantasy series that you have ever read?

the Realm of the Elderlings series by Robin Hobb

Okay, yeah, I spent the entire tag yesterday talking about Robin Hobb’s books and my intention today was to give y’all a break from them, but… I hardly ever complete the series I start. If it wasn’t for my buddy-read with Emily from Embuhleeliest, I probably would have gotten distracted from completing the Realm of the Elderlings series. It is the longest series I’ve completed thus far.

Book Tag Week: Quick Fire Fantasy Tag

And I’m back again for another Wyrd & Wonder BOOK TAG WEEK.

This time I’m doing the Quick Fire Fantasy Tag, which was created by the Bookworm Dreamer. I consider myself tagged by Lisa at Way Too Fantasy because I found the tag on her blog.

5-star book

The Golden Fool by Robin Hobb

Of course, the first book to pop in my head is one by Robin Hobb from her Realm of the Elderlings series, which is absolutely fantastic. The Golden Fool is the second novel in the Tawney Man trilogy and it’s one of my favorites about Fitz and the Fool’s adventures.

Book Tag Week: Fantasy Tropes Book Tag

BOOK TAG WEEK continues!! 😀

This whole week I’m posting nothing but fantasy-themed book tags to celebrate Wyrd & Wonder, a month-long celebration in May of all things fantasy. However, although all the tags will be fantasy-themed, not all the books I mention will be fantasy because I haven’t read enough of them. (I spend too much time rereading, lol.)

Today, I’m doing the Fantasy Tropes Book Tag, which I found on Nut Free Nerd and was created by One’s Peculiar.

Lost Princess: A book/series you lost interest in halfway through

The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, Elio M. García Jr., and Linda Antonsson

Book Tag Week: Get to Know the Fantasy Reader Tag

BOOK TAG WEEK is back again!! 😀 Which means I’m posting nothing but book tags all week long!!

AND!! Since Wyrd & Wonder (a month-long celebration of all things fantasy) is taking place this month and I’m participating in it, all these book tags will be fantasy-themed. I will try to limit my answers to only fantasy books, comics, and shows, but I can’t guarantee that since I haven’t read THAT much fantasy. (I spend way too much time rereading.)

Well, I’ll kick off BOOK TAG WEEK with the Get to Know the Fantasy Reader Tag, which booktuber the Book Pusher adapted from Bree Hill’s Get to Know the Romance Reader Tag.

What is your fantasy origin story? (How you came to read your first fantasy novel)

Wyrd & Wonder Is Almost Here | Check Out My TBR

It’s that time of year again when we all band together to embark on fantastic adventures. Once more, Imyril, Lisa, and Jorie are hosting the Wyrd & Wonder reading event where we spend an entire month reading only fantasy stories.

Let’s Rewind: May 2019 | #WyrdandWonder Wrap Up

Here’s my wrap-up post for the month and for Wyrd and Wonder, a month-long celebration in May to celebrate all things fantasy that was hosted by Imyril at There’s Always Room for One More, Lisa at Dear Geek Place, and Jorie at Jorie Loves a Story. I had so much fun participating in this event, and I plan to do so again in May next year (hopefully better prepared).

Let’s Rewind is my version of a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever the hell happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.

Personal Life

May was great, although I felt the build up of exhaustion from January to April in it and took a week off from all things, except blogging, so I could spend some time with myself and some friends. Now I feel rested and back to feeling like my good ol’ self. But summer is coming and I’ll want to hang out more, so I don’t know how that’s going to work with my jobs, but I’ll figure out something.
