My plan was to use Weekend Reads for my bookshelf tour BUT I’m participating in the Wyrd & Wonder readalong for The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison and am enjoying the book too much to not answer the readalong questions for the chapters, so… Weekend Reads will be used for that instead. 😀
So far, The Goblin Emperor is a fantasy book that seems to be about a young man who suddenly, and unexpectedly, becomes emperor of his realm. I get the impression that the story will be only about political intrigues and that this world is filled with only goblins and elves since only those two types are mentioned in the first 9 chapters.
What is the longest fantasy series that you have ever read?
the Realm of the Elderlings series by Robin Hobb
Okay, yeah, I spent the entire tag yesterday talking about Robin Hobb’s books and my intention today was to give y’all a break from them, but… I hardly ever complete the series I start. If it wasn’t for my buddy-read with Emily from Embuhleeliest, I probably would have gotten distracted from completing the Realm of the Elderlings series. It is the longest series I’ve completed thus far.
And I’m back again for another Wyrd & Wonder BOOK TAG WEEK.
This time I’m doing the Quick Fire Fantasy Tag, which was created by the Bookworm Dreamer. I consider myself tagged by Lisa at Way Too Fantasy because I found the tag on her blog.
The Golden Fool by Robin Hobb
Of course, the first book to pop in my head is one by Robin Hobb from her Realm of the Elderlings series, which is absolutely fantastic. The Golden Fool is the second novel in the Tawney Man trilogy and it’s one of my favorites about Fitz and the Fool’s adventures.
This whole week I’m posting nothing but fantasy-themed book tags to celebrate Wyrd & Wonder, a month-long celebration in May of all things fantasy. However, although all the tags will be fantasy-themed, not all the books I mention will be fantasy because I haven’t read enough of them. (I spend too much time rereading, lol.)
BOOK TAG WEEK is back again!! 😀 Which means I’m posting nothing but book tags all week long!!
AND!! Since Wyrd & Wonder(a month-long celebration of all things fantasy) is taking place this month and I’m participating in it, all these book tags will be fantasy-themed. I will try to limit my answers to only fantasy books, comics, and shows, but I can’t guarantee that since I haven’t read THAT much fantasy. (I spend way too much time rereading.)
It’s that time of year again when we all band together to embark on fantastic adventures. Once more, Imyril, Lisa, and Jorie are hosting the Wyrd & Wonder reading event where we spend an entire month reading only fantasy stories.
AND I’M SO PUMPED FOR THIS!! 😀
What is Wyrd & Wonder?
Wyrd & Wonder is a month-long celebration of all things fantasy. Those interested can participate in any way they like, but make sure to sign up. There’s no deadline for signing up but if you do so before May 1st and make a post in the first week of May, you’ll be entered into a book giveaway.
For more details about the event, check out these posts on Imyril’s blog:
Here’s my wrap-up post for the month and for Wyrd and Wonder, a month-long celebration in May to celebrate all things fantasy that was hosted by Imyril at There’s Always Room for One More, Lisa at Dear Geek Place, and Jorie at Jorie Loves a Story. I had so much fun participating in this event, and I plan to do so again in May next year (hopefully better prepared).
Let’s Rewind is my version of a monthly wrap up but instead of talking about only books, I include all types of other stuff, like articles… bookish news… commercials… random-ass links… movies… art… podcasts… cartoons… and whatever the hell happened to me in the month. You know, the usual stuff that people talk about in monthly wrap ups. So read on to see what I did and read this month. You might stumble upon something that interests you.
May was great, although I felt the build up of exhaustion from January to April in it and took a week off from all things, except blogging, so I could spend some time with myself and some friends. Now I feel rested and back to feeling like my good ol’ self. But summer is coming and I’ll want to hang out more, so I don’t know how that’s going to work with my jobs, but I’ll figure out something.
In case anyone else would like to do this as a book tag, please credit Imyril at There’s Always Room for One More, who put this challenge together for #WyrdandWonder, a month-long celebration in May of all things fantasy.
Today is the last day of #WyrdandWonder and thus the last day to enter my book GIVEAWAY. If you haven’t already done so, click here to be entered to win up to $30USD of fantasy book purchases from Book Depository.
